Upside Innovations is a manufacturer of aluminum ramps, steps, platforms, handrails, and canopies. We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead the continued implementation and improvement of our EHS programs.
The EHS coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations while supporting a proactive safety culture across the organization. This role partners leadership and employees to identify risks, improve systems, and promote a safe and healthy workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and continuously improve the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety programs and policies
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and environmental requirements, while maintaining required regulatory documentation and reporting
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and external safety partners
- Conduct facility inspections, hazard assessments, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain systems for tracking incidents, near misses, corrective actions, and safety performance metrics to support data-driven improvements to EHS programs
- Lead the organization’s safety training programs, including new hire orientation, ongoing safety education, and maintenance of training materials and documentation
- Support supervisors and managers in reinforcing safe work practices and accountability
- Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives and reporting programs
- Provide regular updates to leadership on EHS performance and improvement initiatives
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to safety and environmental management systems
- Conduct accident investigations and coordinate incident response activities
- Assist employees with workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with insurance carriers and third-party administrators
- Track claim activity and support return-to-work programs
- Provide guidance to leadership and departments on environmental, health, and safety matters
- Support operational improvements that reduce risk and improve workplace safety
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QualificationsQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, or a related field
- Professional safety certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
- Experience supporting or maintaining ISO-based management systems (e.g., ISO 14001)
- 2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Experience managing workers’ compensation claims and injury case management
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence safety culture across all levels of the organization
- Experience of participating in regulatory inspections or external EHS audits
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
