About the Position:
Walters is recruiting a Co-op student for Spring 2026 to assist the Health and Safety Department, in the Walters Corporate Office. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Work with the Health and Safety Specialist in developing a system for documenting, updating and maintaining safety related training & testing.
- Collect and compile data and assist in preparing reports.
- Support the learning management system and software for data collection (Weekly system audits of Safetyhub/Sitedocs)
- Maintain HSE signs, posters, and communication boards.
- Participate in safety inspections and audits to verify compliance and escalate issues as required.
- Ensure scheduled milestones are met.
- Provide support for other health and safety related projects and additional administrative duties as assigned.
Work Location:
- Head office in Hamilton ON.
Position Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a registered college diploma/advanced-diploma, post-secondary co-op program in Health and Safety or a similar field
- Knowledgeable in OHSA and applicable regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in all written and verbal communication
- A team player who is also able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
