The company operates one of the largest and most advanced vertically integrated production plants in Europe, delivering daily innovations and high-quality products, using raw materials that raise the bar for quality in both the Greek and international markets.
We are looking for an Environment, Health & Safety Lead whose main responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS programs and policies to ensure a safe work environment and full compliance with Greek legislation and corporate standards.
- Organizing and conducting regular plant inspections and EHS audits, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring the timely implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
- Conducting risk assessments and leading incident and near-miss investigations to determine root causes, prevent recurrence, and foster a "Zero Harm" culture across the plant.
- Managing CAPEX projects, equipment investments, and technical improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental management systems and collaborating closely with Quality and Production teams to align EHS protocols with GMP and internal procedures.
- Liaising with regulatory authorities and external agencies regarding EHS matters, handling external inspections, and ensuring all statutory reporting is accurate and up to date.
- Delivering EHS training and awareness programs for employees, ensuring the proper use of PPE, high housekeeping standards, and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Managing and coordinating the EHS compliance of contractors, subcontractors, and third parties on-site, ensuring they abide by all applicable laws and internal regulations.
- Monitoring EHS performance indicators, maintaining accurate records, analyzing data and preparing periodic reports for management review.
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in an EHS role within an industrial environment (experience in FMCG, cosmetics, or chemicals will be considered a strong asset).
- In-depth knowledge of Greek occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, risk analysis methodologies, and accident prevention measures.
- Solid understanding of safety and environmental management systems.
- Eligible for an authorized signature (statutory Safety Technician right) according to Greek legislation.
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO / GMP / HACCP) is highly desirable.
- Very good command of MS Office and experience in preparing technical reports and EHS documentation.
- Very good command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
- Hands-on mindset, strong observational and analytical skills, ability to prioritise, effective communication with cross-functional teams, and a continuous improvement mentality.
