The Opportunity
Build the Future with Us – As an Experienced Environmental Consultant within our Contaminated Lands team in Barrie, Ontario, you will shape environmental solutions that protect communities, support clients across Canada, and advance remediation excellence. You’ll apply your expertise in fuel storage systems, regulatory compliance, and contaminated site assessment to projects that make a meaningful impact.
Your Impact
- Design and inspect liquid fuel tank systems regulated under SOR/2008‑197 and the Ontario Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000.
- Prepare removal reports for the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
- Manage design/build fuel system projects, including technical specifications (National Master Specification format) and contract administration.
- Conduct construction‑phase inspections for fuel tank system installations.
- Deliver projects for federal clients, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and standards.
- Lead and manage Phase I & II ESAs, remediation programs, and support for Risk Assessments and Records of Site Condition (O.Reg. 153/04).
- Apply knowledge of O.Reg. 406/19 (Excess Soil Management) to support planning and execution.
- Develop proposals, conceptual site models, and work programs.
- Mentor junior staff in both field and office settings.
- Coordinate subcontractors, field programs, and equipment logistics.
- Interpret environmental data, lab results, and historical records to inform technical reports.
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Champion health and safety practices and foster a safety‑first project culture.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on liquid fuel tank systems.
- Professional designation (P.Eng.) and Qualified Person (QP) status.
- Strong understanding of SOR/2008‑197, the Ontario TSSA requirements, O.Reg. 153/04, and O.Reg. 406/19.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for local fieldwork.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 – $118,900
MB & ON: $81,900 – $112,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $90,100 – $124,100
