Business Overview
Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Sustainable Investment and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications. It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.
The Role
On a 12 month fixed term contract you will be working with a range of stakeholders, you'll support the team in the delivery of IFM’s Sustainable Investment strategy. Liaising and coordinating across IFM, you'll find yourself building strong relationships with diverse people across the business. A key focus of the role is to assist with various Sustainable Investment-related reporting requirements of the firm, as well as helping to progress IFM’s sustainable investment initiatives in areas such as environmental action and social inclusion. This is an ideal early career role for candidates that wish to develop a career in Sustainable Investment.
The ideal candidate brings strong organisational and interpersonal skills and likes to work with sustainable investment and reporting data to gain new insights, track progress of sustainable investment activities and provide clarity to our clients. With a passion for sustainable investment, we are looking for a candidate with a flexible and innovative mindset and the ability to run with diverse projects simultaneously.
Activities critical to this role include:
- Assist with the delivery of IFM’s sustainability reporting and other external SI reporting requirements, including PRI Submission, Annual Modern Slavery Statement, Climate-related reporting, UK Stewardship Code etc.
- Assist with programs of work relating to sustainable investment initiatives such as climate change, human rights, nature and biodiversity etc.
- Assist in the provision and coordination of input/content into RFPs and investor requests
- Uplift and contribute to the development of marketing and meeting materials and presentations to enhance the communication of IFM’s sustainable investment strategy, agenda and outcomes.
- Undertake reviews of evolving investor expectations, policy direction, and peer reporting and make recommendations for improvement in our positioning or consideration in our strategy or product offering.
- Contribute to thought leadership periodically and support internal communications
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required to support the broader Sustainable Investment team.
- Willingness to work flexibly across time zones, including occasional early-morning or evening hours, to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders.
Experience
- Sustainability-related background would be an advantage.
- Experience working on multiple projects &/or initiatives in parallel
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across global teams to drive outcomes; comfort working across multiple cultures is an advantage
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively to get large projects completed within hard deadlines
- Ability to organise work proactively, rapidly and effectively – ‘get things done’.
- Comfortable working with level of ambiguity and showing initiative in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an Sustainability, Business, Legal, or Investment/Finance/Economics focus.
Business knowledge
- Understanding of Sustainable Investment would be advantageous.
- Understanding of the principles relating to the delivery of administrative services, e.g., confidentiality, protocols, following process etc.
- Understanding of the pension and funds management sectors desirable.
- 3+ years working in a professional environment – such as finance, sustainability or ESG within business, government or not-for-profit.
Technical knowledge
- Skills in MS Office (especially Powerpoint, Excel, Co-Pilot) & Teams.
- Business writing and communications.
- Background in Sustainability Reporting/reporting experience would be an advantage.
