Job Summary
The Renewable Procurement Manager is responsible for leading sourcing and procurement strategies for renewable energy technologies and infrastructure. This role manages supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing initiatives across solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV infrastructure, and other clean energy technologies. The position supports cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and supply chain risk mitigation while ensuring reliable sourcing for utility-scale, commercial, and distributed energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute procurement strategies for renewable energy technologies including solar modules, inverters, trackers, BESS, EV infrastructure, and related components.
Manage sourcing plans aligned with project development timelines and operational needs.
Lead RFP and RFQ processes including vendor evaluation, bid comparison, and selection.
Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering opportunities across equipment and service procurement.
Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with manufacturers, EPC partners, and service providers.
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, service agreements, and performance guarantees.
Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, master service agreements (MSAs), and supply agreements.
Monitor supplier performance, quality metrics, and delivery timelines.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including supplier availability, geopolitical factors, logistics constraints, tariffs, and regulatory impacts.
Maintain diversified supplier portfolios and develop contingency sourcing strategies.
Monitor renewable technology trends, pricing indices, and global supply chain dynamics.
Support compliance with FEOC (Foreign Entity of Concern) requirements, domestic content rules, and relevant energy regulations.
Monitor policy developments, domestic manufacturing incentives, and regulatory changes impacting procurement strategies.
Provide procurement insights to support project planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
Track renewable energy market trends and emerging technologies to inform sourcing decisions.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Strong contract negotiation and supplier management skills
Experience managing RFP/RFQ sourcing processes
Excellent analytical, financial, and commercial acumen
Knowledge of renewable energy equipment such as solar modules, inverters, trackers, BESS, wind turbines, or EV infrastructure
Familiarity with FEOC compliance, domestic content requirements, and energy regulations
Strong organizational and project management capabilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and supplier relationships simultaneously
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Energy Systems, Sustainability, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
Experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or clean technology procurement strongly preferred
Schedule
Normal business hours with flexibility to support project deadlines and supplier coordination as needed.
Work Environment & Travel
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
Occasional travel may be required to attend trade shows, supplier meetings, manufacturing facilities, and corporate events.
