Position Overview
The Analyst, Renewable Procurement will be responsible for supporting Invenergy’s development, engineering, and construction activities through the organization and integration of internal & external data. Procurement activities will support wind, solar, and energy storage projects. This role reports to the Senior Director of Renewable Procurement.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal Pre-Construction, Development, Origination, and Project Management teams to summarize upcoming electrical equipment (substation High Voltage breakers, Control Enclosures, Main Power Transformers, and Medium Voltage cable) needs. Combine analysis of internal needs with external data (lead times, supplier manufacturing availability, and pricing).
Collaborate with Renewable Procurement teammate to analyze procurement options and assist in making equipment supply recommendations that best position Invenergy’s pipeline of renewable energy projects.
Maintain and improve internal pricing database based on continuous market research and continuous development of market knowledge and pricing trends. Collaborate with the estimating team to support internal project pricing efforts.
Oversee and expand Supplier Relationship Databases, including tracking of supplier quality management initiatives and scoring along Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Maintain and implement improvements to internal document management.
Establish and maintain tracking of cost exposure within Supply Agreements with indexed prices.
Support purchase order records and tracking, assist with implementation of project cash flow & budget forecasts for executed Supply Agreements.
Maintain and analyze data records of key raw material prices to understand competitive landscapes and trends.
Monitor and analyze raw material price indices and global trends to facilitate favorable supplier negotiations.
Support the management and deployment of equipment held in inventory. Support maintaining compliance with the storage & maintenance covenants for equipment supply loans. Maintain relationship with logistics service providers for the loading & transportation of equipment from central warehouses/storage facilities to projects under construction.
Assist in the preparation and management of Request for Proposal packages as well as evaluation of equipment supply bids.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline
1 to 3+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or a related field
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
Strong analytical skills, with an understanding of financial analysis for business decisions
Interest in renewable energy
Proven experience in data management and reporting using data visualization software
Interest in commercial negotiation and legal aspects of equipment contracting.
