This position is located in Olympic National Park, as the lead for the Facility Management Division.
Major Duties
The position is directly supervised by the Superintendent and is located at park headquarters in Port Angeles, WA. The position is responsible for developing and implementing a complex facility management program for several geographically distinct areas, including leadership and supervision, facility asset management and operations, environmental management, and project management. This position is responsible and accountable for developing and implement a program to ensure maintenance and preservation management of park facilities, roads, and trails. This is a complex facilities management operation and is the largest division in the park. In addition to regular operations, this position leads a project management team that manages a complex program of ongoing projects, requiring close collaboration with all other divisions, and natural and cultural resource compliance. This position is a member of the park's leadership team. Port Angeles, WA, is a city of approximately 20,000. The climate is typical of the Pacific Northwest with relatively temperate weather in Port Angeles. Major Duties include: Serves as the Chief of Facility Management. Principal advisor and management consultant in all aspects of park maintenance, facilities development and preservation, and other aspects related to human-built environment. Provides management and oversite of Facility Management: Applies principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing projects and resources. Determines objectives and strategies; coordinates with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors and evaluates the progress and outcomes of operational plans; anticipates potential threats or opportunities. including technical performance. Provides leadership and oversight and is responsible for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating and reviewing all engineering, operational, functionality, and other technical advice on Utilities, Roads, Trails, Buildings, Grounds, Design and Engineering programs. Establishes and maintains an effective planning and budgeting program. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1-2 night per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. The position to which you will be appointed is subject to a financial disclosure reporting requirement and you will be required to complete a new entrant Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450) within 30 days of your appointment.
