Summary
This announcement is for a Seasonal Engineering Equipment Operator, WG-5716-8, to clear ICTAP/CTAP priority lists. It is only open to current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the ICTAP/CTAP. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for these parks is May - October, but the season may be reduced due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2026
Major Duties
Operates gasoline or diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler type traction, such as road graders, tractors with bulldozer or angle dozer blades, front-end loaders, backhoes, wheel loader, trench diggers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments. Some of these vehicles may be equipped with auxillary attachments (mower and sweeper or sanding units) Operates equipment to push, pull, pile, excavate, backfill, grade or level earth and/or refuse. Uses equipment to perform such functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials, and to maintain ditches, road shoulders and beds. Motor grader is used to grade and ditch, plow or clear debris, generally flat road and ditch surfaces where grading stake is not. Operates front-end loader for the process of moving dirt and materials, and filling trucks. Uses backhoe to dig and backfill ditches. Uses boom for placing pipe, hydrants, and other large objects in utility and road maintenance operations throughout the park. Uses dozer to rough in new construction sites, move stumps, rocks and brush, and stockpile gravel. Uses the grader, loader, dozer and dump truck to maintain roads and remove/move fill. Uses equipment to perform land fill maintenance, roadside brushing, etc. Loads, secures and hauls equipment to and from project sites using truck and trailer.
