Summary
The typical season for this position is April through October but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. The anticipated entry on duty is April 2026. NOTE: OPM has identified this position as eligible for an exception to the typical 1039-hour season. This exception allows up to 1560 hours which may extend the season(s) reflected in this announcement. See the Additional Information section for details.
Major Duties
This position will be performing the following duties including but not limited to: Incumbent works under close to general supervision, receiving instructions on new or unusual assignments and following established procedures for recurring work. Assists in tasks related to the maintenance of vehicles, vessels, heavy equipment and other small engine equipment, laboring, and custodial work. Performs manual labor such as loading and unloading trucks, moving materials or supplies, and assisting higher-graded workers with repair or maintenance projects. Safely transports passengers or cargo to their destinations throughout rural or urban areas on park and/or public roads in a full range of traffic conditions (or the equivalent). Must possess a valid driver's license to operate light vehicles or equipment as assigned. As part of the park's facility management and maintenance team, incumbent must follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, and protective equipment requirements.
