Job Description Summary
The Manager of Carbon Capture Solutions (CCS) Engineering is a strategic leadership role responsible for influencing, bidding, winning, and executing high-value opportunities involving carbon capture technologies. This leader serves as a high-level expert in integrating decarbonization strategies—specifically CO2 capture, compression, and storage—into the GE Vernova Gas Power solutions portfolio.
The successful candidate will lead a team of engineering experts focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) and Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) aspects of CCS. This role requires extensive collaboration across Marketing, Product Management, Sourcing, and Application Engineering to deliver industry-best plant integration and advance next-generation low-carbon technologies to meet global energy transition needs.
Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Owns/influences budgets and operating plans. The role is guided by operating policy. Works with cross functional teams. The role has autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. The role may have a major impact on a small business unit or Family within a Function or P&L. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy & Technical Leadership
- Technology Roadmaps: Define and execute engineering roadmaps for CCS and decarbonization solutions that strengthen competitive positioning in the thermal and low-carbon power sectors.
- Standardization: Develop standard products and processes, including "Carbon Capture Capable" optionality for key Gas Turbine platforms, to ensure execution readiness and speed.
- Systems Integration: Lead complex, system-level cross-functional integration across Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, HRSGs, and Balance of Plant equipment, managing interfaces with external EPCs and CCS OEMs.
Commercial & Execution Excellence
- Bidding & Winning: Lead the technical strategy and development of Authorization to Quote (ATQ) efforts for decarbonization offerings, directly impacting win probability for major global projects.
- Customer & Executive Engagement: Serve as a technical authority in interactions with customer C-suite leaders and senior leadership, providing technical credibility for high-stakes decarbonization initiatives.
- FEED & Performance Studies: Support customer Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies and lead the evaluation of equipment and services to ensure they meet technical compliance and value targets.
- Estimation Tools: Develop and maintain simplified tools to estimate power plant performance, cost, and cycle efficiency related to carbon capture and storage.
Innovation & Product Development
- NPI Development: Lead the development of critical technologies, including Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), Steam Turbine extractions, and optimized plant controls for the "Power Plant of the Future."
- Collaboration: Partner with R&D organizations and external technology partners to co-develop, pilot, and validate next-generation solvent and carbon capture technologies.
- IP Protection: Protect intellectual property and establish technology differentiators that strengthen market leadership in the decarbonization domain.
People & Culture Leadership
- Team Building: Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team skilled in systems thinking and capable of solving complex technical challenges.
- Culture of Excellence: Cultivate a team culture centered on "decarb passion," accountability, and urgency, aligned with the mission to electrify and decarbonize.
- Mentorship: Develop the next generation of technical leaders and principal engineers to sustain the organization’s technical vitality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or a related Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive engineering experience in power plant applications, turbomachinery, or large integrated energy systems.
- Proven background in decarbonization, carbon capture, or low-carbon technology development.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,400.00 and $254,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
