Major Duties
Coordinate the day-to-day business operations of a park level fee organization, to include the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fees and donations. Prepare portions of fee program planning documents for park level fee operations and/or seasonal staffing priorities. Provide authoritative instruction and training to lower-level employees regarding the implementation of fee program policies, standards, methods, controls, and procedures. Ensure the maintenance and operation of point-of-sale systems, computer applications, and peripheral fee collection devices such as hand-held devices, tablets, scanning devices, and automated fee machines used by the organization's fee program. Ensure all collected fees are safeguarded, accounted for, and remitted and reconciled in accordance with established policies and procedures. Research, compile, and analyze data on park-level fee program operations and identify trends and patterns in the development and management of recreation fees. Recommend changes to fee program policies, standards, methods, controls, and procedures to improve fee operations. Coordinate the implementation of new procedures, plans, and systems to improve the inhouse tracking of fees, tours, campgrounds, events, permits, etc. Coordinate the implementation of new automated fee collection and/or public reservation systems and applications at the park level. Monitor the use of existing automated systems and make recommendations to management to improve visitor satisfaction. Depending on duty station, this may be a career-seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. As such, selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year based on project requirements or weather conditions. Selectee are guaranteed to work at least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year, with the work schedule to be determined upon appointment.
