Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pullout Driver – Class 3 to join our team. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, confident operating heavy-duty trucks, and experienced in handling trailers in various driving environments. This physically demanding role involves transporting large open-top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and customer locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Class 3 trucks safely and efficiently along industrial and urban routes.
- Safely pull and maneuver trailers in tight spaces and diverse environments.
- Navigate driveways, alleyways, high-traffic roads, and areas with overhead restrictions.
- Execute precise backing maneuvers and container positioning.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
- Secure and transport containers in compliance with safety standards.
- Deliver and pick up containers from customer sites, ensuring proper placement.
- Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding site issues or delays.
- Utilize app-based routing and reporting software for real-time navigation and job documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicle and client sites.
- Assist with shop/yard duties and support overflow routes as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license with Q (Air Brake) endorsement.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial Class 3 driving experience, preferably multi-stop routes.
- Trailering experience strongly preferred (landscaping, construction, delivery, equipment hauling, etc.).
- Clean commercial driver’s abstract.
- Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 75 lbs.
- Basic knowledge of truck maintenance is an asset.
