Position Summary
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of the manufacturing schedule. This role oversees Production Team Leads, supports achievement of service level objectives, and drives accountability across safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. The position partners closely with Planning, Engineering, and Operations leadership to improve processes, strengthen team capability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Schedule
- Standard hours are 2 pm – 11 pm, Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Production Team Leads to ensure efficient execution of daily scheduled work orders.
- Partner with the Planner/Scheduler to support development and execution of the monthly Master Production Schedule.
- Monitor production performance metrics including labor efficiency, utilization, first-time pass yield, and schedule adherence.
- Enforce adherence to company policies related to safety, attendance, performance, and conduct; administer corrective action as appropriate.
- Promote and maintain a safe manufacturing environment, including oversight of 5S and general facility condition.
- Develop leadership capability within Team Leads and support employee skill development across the production team.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and implement initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Ensure all required safety and job-related training is completed and documented.
- Attend and contribute to weekly production and cross-functional meetings.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrates the Solarcraft Core Values
- Manufacturing/Assembly Facility Experience
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering drawings
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification
- Familiarity of GD&T standards preferred
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Regular movement between office and production floor is required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods of time
