Summary
The closing date of this announcement has been extended to 03/09/2026. This position is a Biological Science Aid, GS- 0404-3. This position supports the Arizona Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office. Duties include assisting senior staff with non-native fish removal, recording instrument data, collecting samples, maintaining habitat, capturing and tagging fish, operating field equipment, gathering study data, and performing routine tests.
Major Duties
This is a temporary appointment intended for seasonal work that is less than 6 months or 1040 hours from the date of appointment/service year. It is expected this position will be terminated upon completion of the seasons work. The agency may non-competitively rehire an eligible temporary seasonal worker in subsequent years who works less than 6 months or 1040 hours in their service year. As a Seasonal - Biological Science Aid your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Counting visual sightings of identifiable fish Reporting any change in habitat conditions Collecting samples of water, soil, plant, or animal specimens as instructed Recording location samples taken Working as a member of a crew engaged in conducting various fisheries surveys, stocking fish, grounds/facility maintenance, fencing, construction of habitat restoration projects, cleaning public recreation areas, etc.
