Summary
The purpose of the position is to perform, at the sub-journeyman level, the maintenance, repair, and construction of Park trails. Duty station may be in an area away from park headquarters with general duties performed in a Park. This position requires frequent overnight backcountry stays.
Major Duties
Transports tools, materials, employees, livestock, vehicles and equipment to job sites and trailheads. Operates "Bobcat"/Skidsteer and larger loaders, powered wheelbarrows, rollers, forklifts and similar on trails and related infrastructure, and can transport this equipment and materials using trailers and dump trucks Performs carpentry work, primarily using heavy log and rough-sawn lumber, on trail structures such as log checks, footbridges, multi-use bridges, corrals, hitch rails, and boardwalks. Perform laborer tasks such as cleanup of work sites and backcountry camps, materials moving, cleaning of vehicles and equipment and shop areas. Cut-off Dates: This is an open continuous announcement, in which applications are collected over several months, and have multiple cut-off dates.
