Summary
The primary purpose of the position is to perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Incumbent utilizes journeyman knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. All of the duties described by this position may not exist in each location, but that should not preclude use of this position.
Major Duties
Perform a variety of duties as a maintenance mechanic on buildings and utilities using journeyman skills in sheet metal, iron, wood crafting, masonry, glazing and painting some of these are historic building and utilities. Work with the building and utilities in constructing new, alter or repair, rehabilitate or modify existing historic items such as windows, doors, posts, beams, stairways, railings interior and exterior moldings siding, rafters, roofing, etc Operates trucks up to 20,000 GVW on public roads and motor boats up to 30' in length safely on Lake Superior in all weather conditions. Operates and performs preventive maintenance on portable generators, and portable water pumps. Cut-off Dates: This is an open continuous announcement, in which applications are collected over several months, and have multiple cut-off dates.
