This is not a compliance-driven enforcement role.
This position requires a respected safety professional capable of influencing and leading an established team of up to 10 safety contractors toward a stronger Lean Delivery culture. The selected candidate must demonstrate the ability to coach both craft and safety professionals, integrate safety into collaborative planning systems, and drive measurable cultural improvement across the project.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide daily leadership and mentoring to craft teams, subcontractors, and safety professionals
• Influence and guide up to 10 safety contractors toward a Lean, engagement-based mindset
• Integrate safety into Lean IPD systems, pull planning, and collaborative workflows
• Strengthen leading indicators, KPIs, and proactive safety engagement
• Reinvigorate and expand the Near Miss reporting program
• Champion the 20-20-20 BOS initiative and proactive hazard elimination
• Lead morning all-contractor huddles and engagement sessions
• Support incident investigation, corrective actions, and performance stabilization
• Align site practices with internal safety management systems and compliance standards
• Generate continuous improvement ideas aligned with Lean principles
What We Are Looking For
• Demonstrated leadership of other safety professionals (not just field enforcement)
• Proven ability to influence culture across craft, GC, subcontractor, and owner stakeholders
• Experience working in Lean Delivery, IPD, or Last Planner environments (preferred)
• Strong coaching and mentoring capability - collaborative, not authoritarian
• Ability to communicate the "why" behind expectations
• High emotional intelligence and executive-level communication presence
• Experience in installation, mechanical, or process-equipment construction environments
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings a modern, forward-thinking safety philosophy rooted in:
• Respect for people
• Continuous improvement
• Leading indicator performance
• Collaborative problem solving
• Lean cultural integration
This individual must be capable of making an immediate positive impression, building trust quickly, and demonstrating leadership presence within the first 30-60 days.
Work Environment
• Project trailer setting with full amenities and internet access
• Embedded within construction leadership team
• Office hardware and safety supplies provided onsite
