Position Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead will support manufacturing management by coordinating safety training programs, investigating employee injuries, and managing safety and claims information. Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations and promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Teams: Provide Leadership and direction for the company Safety and Rapid Response teams.
- Safety Training and Initiatives: Assist in the development and execution of safety training programs, ensuring alignment with company safety policies. Participate in accident investigations and provide timely responses to injured workers.
- Injury Reporting and Follow-Up: Report employee injuries to the relevant insurance agencies and provide detailed injury reports and follow-up actions to internal management.
- Near Miss Program Coordination: Oversee the Near Miss safety program by tracking incidents and delivering weekly reports to the manufacturing management team.
- Return to Work Collaboration: Partner with the Human Resources department to support Return-to-work initiatives for injured employees.
- Fire Drills and Emergency Preparedness: Schedule and conduct fire drills in collaboration with manufacturing management and local fire department representatives.
- OSHA Compliance: Ensure the entry, reporting, and posting of required OSHA logs and reports are accurate and timely.
- OSHA Inspections: Participate in OSHA inspections and collaborate on implementing necessary corrective actions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) system administration.
- Help audit and improve RMCF safety policies and programs.
- Administer safety data sheet (SDS) folders.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Minimum of one year of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA regulations, and employee safety training. EMS work experience may be considered in lieu of EHS work experience.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to convey instructions and information clearly and accurately to others.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and internet research.
- Certified Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, reaching, grasping small objects, and lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without accommodation.
