Ansell is looking for an Associate Manager - Environmental Health & Safet - EHS to join our team in Ansell Textile Lanka Seeduwa.
This position is mainly responsible to assist the Manager EHS and the Management of Environment Health & Safety, related to all operations at Ansell Textiles Lanka
What your role will be?
- Assist in developing, maintaining and updating Environment, Health, Safety and property protection policies, procedures, best practices and programs thereby ensuring the site's risk management performances is in line with corporate requirement.
- Guide EHS team to coordinate and enhance day-to-day Safety, Health & Environmental Programs, working closely with the EHS Manager and Global EHS team to promote and improve Risk Management.
- Guide EHS team for coordinating the site leading & lagging indicator reporting system, including leading accident investigations, determining, and implementing corrective & preventive actions, completing Lessons Learnt Reports for ATL.
- Support the EHS Manager in facilitating the completion of recommendations from Ansell’s Audit Programs, including assigning responsibility for recommendations, routinely checking completion status, and periodic reporting.
- Support operational teams on coaching, guiding and training employees on EHS risk identification, assessment, and implementation of control measures.
- Guide EHS team to coordinate activities to maintain compliance with ISO 14001, 50001, 45001 & ZWLF certification & support other audits WRAP, SMETA, CTPAT etc.
- Coordinate and follow up the implementation of legal requirements from local authorities
- Coordinate and follow up the implementation of recommendations from Global Risk Management and Insurance Audits
- Assist in Risk Assessments associated with new products developments, new processes, and changes in processes, changes in building construction or any other changes that may potentially have a bearing on the site's risk profile
- Assist in the promotion of industrial safety amongst employees by coordinating safety campaigns and individual counseling when necessary
- Assist in organizing and conducting Environment, Health & Safety orientation and training sessions for Employees, Contractors and Visitors
- Assist in the investigation of industrial accidents to identify possible causes and make recommendations to management
- Assist the team in achieving the EHS KPIs assigned by global EHS and provide periodic updates to management.
- Coordinate routine inspections with the plant executive team, listing items needing attention, working with management to assign corrective action responsibility, and completing progress/status reports as required.
- Support for conducting Safety Committee meetings, monitoring EHS related CAPA, Improving EHS communications and driving Employee engagement activities related to EHS
- Monitoring of outsourced services to ensure efficient and effective operations are maintained as per the set corporate and government standards.
- Overall involvement in HRT, COP, APS EHS Pillar implementations, health checks & assessments.

Education: |
·Degree holder in EHS, Science, Engineering or related stream. ·NIBOSH IGC certification ·Expertise on the IS014001, 50001,45001 standard and Safety, health & environmental regulations of Sri Lanka |
Job Experience: |
3-4 years operations experience with involvement in Environment, Health & Safety related initiatives and projects 2-3 years compliance audit involvement experience and engagement with legal entities such as BOI, CEA, DFIE etc

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: |
Thorough knowledge on environmental, health, safety and risk management standards. Good communicator with sound problem solving and presentation skills Good at respectfully challenging paradigms and being a change agent. Fluent in English and Sinhala. Leadership, teamwork, influencing skills Self driven and result oriented Positive attitude and enthusiasm. Hazard identification and Risk Assessment, Environment impact assessment Effective training skills A passion towards this field and a drive to making a positive impact on the lives of people and the environment will be vital.
