Nammo Perry is a center of excellence for the design, development and production of munitions and pyrotechnic products for the U.S. Department of Defense. Nammo employees working at the Florida site manufacture all types of 40mm low and high velocity ammunition; pyrotechnic marking; signaling and tactical illumination devices; battlefield effects training simulators; demolition charges; hand grenade fuzes; and other ammunition components. Additionally, they provide load, assemble, and pack (LAP) services for large caliber direct-fire ammunition.
The HSE Engineer will be intimately involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.

What You’ll Do: Precision in Action
- Conduct incident investigations to develop root cause and corrective actions for all near miss and documented incidents
- Understand and update DOD 4145 site safety plan as programs and processes are changed or added. Conduct regular compliance audits
- Stay current with changes with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), ATF, DOD 4145.26M and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) such as but not limited to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM), International Makers of Explosives (IME), MIL-STD-398 and 882E, and EM 385-1-1 (Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Manual)
- Lead the Process Hazard Analyses as required under the Process Safety Management Program
- Review and approve production SOP’s in relation to PSM
- Ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management, DOD 4145.26M, and ATF regulatory agencies
- Establish NPI HSE objectives and procedures with approval of the Director of HSE
- Maintain good employee relations, and adhere to our Affirmative Action Plan, Labor laws and EEOC rules and regulations
- Represent the Safety and Health and Environmental departments in all meetings as required
- Maintain adherence to Company policies and procedures, safety and environmental standards, and good housekeeping practices

What Dedicated Teammates Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related degree.
- Two (2) years’ experience in Health, Environmental & Safety manufacturing and/or equipment design environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (ASP / CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Ability to be attentive to accuracy and detail

- Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel frequently

- Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends
- Must be able to pick up, handle, and otherwise work paper
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (<85 dBA), however in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary
