Position Overview
As an Operations Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for implementation, operation and analysis of Invenergy’s Energy Storage facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Support Operating Invenergy Battery Storage fleet
- Troubleshoot and resolve specific issues with site personnel & other teams
- Define maintenance program for Storage components and systems
- Evaluate electrical engineering drawings and studies associated with Energy Storage Systems and their applications for operations
- Integrate Energy Storage system process and procedures with the Invenergy Control Center and SCADA teams for operations
- Develop monitoring strategies for Energy Storage Systems including alarming, SOC management, control narratives
- Review Energy Storage use cases and applications for new and existing Energy Storage Systems
- Work and evaluate technology with suppliers of components used in Energy Storage Systems including battery manufacturers, battery management systems, inverter suppliers, SCADA, and HVAC systems
- Review data and develop methods of analytics to improve reliability
- Collaborate with power systems electrical engineering groups on balance of plant maintenance, operations, and emergency support for Energy Storage Systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar
- 1-5 years of work experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Experience with HV/MV electrical infrastructure
- Strong project management skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Able to drive to project sites within the USA.
- Valid Driver's License
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Skills:
- Degree concentration in Power Systems or Renewable Energy Systems
- Experience with renewable energy technology specifically battery storage
- Experience with OSIsoft PI products
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Problem solving and critical thinking.
- Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, ASCE and ANSI/IEEE standards and codes.
- Understanding of RTU/RTACs, control systems, communication networks, and HMIs
- Knowledge in compliance and reliability standards associated with NERC, FERC, and ISOs
- Understanding of Electrical Safety Practices
