The Krusteaz Company is looking to add a Senior Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager! The Sr. EHS&S Manager is responsible for leading Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across all company facilities, while also building and advancing the company’s sustainability strategy across manufacturing operations and the supply chain. Approximately 75% of this role focuses on EHS leadership, compliance, and risk reduction, with the remaining 25% dedicated to sustainability strategy, reporting, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with Plant Leadership, Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Quality, and Procurement. This role is fully onsite, located at our Tukwila, WA Corporate Office or Effingham, IL/Hopkinsville, KY manufacturing location.
Essential Functions: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time. Primary Responsibilities (Approx. 75%) – Environmental, Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead the development of EHS and Sustainability masterplans at each site.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide EHS policies, procedures, and training programs. Ensure the adoption and adherence of all EHS policies and programs through an actively managed auditing process. Fully support audit gap closure activities at the site level.
- Lead the EHS & Sustainability pillar at the corporate level and support the EHS & Sustainability pillars at each site.
- Maintain a dotted line reporting structure with site EHS managers. Coach and mentor site-level EHS teams and provide strong leadership and influence to ensure EHS and Sustainability tasks and activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Serve as the technical subject-matter expert for safety and environmental issues.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and lead regulatory reporting requirements.
- Oversee Workers’ Compensation programs and partner with HR and medical providers.
- Partner with plant leadership to assess risks, improve safe work practices, and strengthen safety culture through an actively managed auditing process.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and support facility security and response requirements.
Secondary Responsibilities (Approx. 25%) – Sustainability:
- Build and execute the company’s sustainability strategy roadmap and annual priorities.
- Lead sustainability data management and reporting, including greenhouse gas inventories.
- Partner with manufacturing sites to improve energy efficiency, water stewardship, waste reduction, and emissions performance.
- Engage suppliers and external partners to advance sustainability performance.
- Support customer, certification, and internal sustainability reporting requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–7+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing environments.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching. Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work. Moderate noise, ability to work in a confined area, and ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time are also included.

Salary Information:An employee in this position based out of Washington State can expect a salary range between $115,398 and $190,399. We typically pay out between $130,000 and $165,000. An employee in this position based out of Illinois or Kentucky can expect a salary range between $104,907 and $173,090. We typically pay out between $118,000 and $150,000. The actual salary offered will be carefully considered based on a wide range of factors, including internal equity, experience, education, certification, training, and location. All positions are eligible for additional incentives based on business performance.
