SUMMARY:

As the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will lead efforts to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, prevent workplace incidents, and manage post-injury processes. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining Environmental Health & Safety plans aligned with company goals, promoting a proactive safety culture, and collaborating with teams to improve our overall Environmental Health & Safety strategy and systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and manage safety initiatives to reduce accidents, injuries, and workers’ compensation costs
Maintain compliance with OSHA and other local, state, and federal safety regulations; respond to regulatory inquiries
Perform regular audits and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
Investigate workplace accidents and injuries, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures
Design and conduct training programs for employees on general and job-specific safety practices
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain safety records, and prepare required reports
Work with other departments to ensure new equipment, facilities, and processes meet safety standards
Perform other job functions related to the position assigned by management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 to 6 years related experience; bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.)
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safe Quality Food SQF Certified preferred
Proven leadership and business acumen skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Bilingual skills are a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:

Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
Occasionally exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather), exposure to outside weather conditions
Continually required to talk or hear and to utilize hand and finger dexterity
Frequently required to sit
Willingness to Travel (25-30%)
