Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We are looking for a Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our growing team.
This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing a proactive, people-first safety culture at Janicki. As a key partner to the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team and a visible leader across all levels of the organization, this position champions safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you’ll lead efforts to identify and mitigate workplace hazards, drive preventative strategies, and uphold rigorous internal and external safety standards. You’ll design and deliver impactful training, conduct thorough audits, and collaborate closely with leadership and frontline teams to strengthen environmental, health, and safety performance. Your work directly influences the well-being of our employees and the operational excellence of our facilities.
The following essential job functions are performed as Environmental Health and Safety Manager:
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety regulations in collaboration with operations teams
- Works closely with operations management to effectively oversee safety at Janicki
- Monitors processes for compliance with safety regulations
- Analyzes data, prepares reports, and communicates findings to senior management[DW1] [BB2]
- Leads thorough investigations of workplace safety incidents and prepares detailed incident report
- Performs root cause analyses for EHS-related events, assigns corrective actions, and monitors completion
- Drives EHS awareness through effective internal communications, training, and engagement initiatives
- Manages relationships with workers’ compensation providers, medical partners, and affected employees
- Supports key safety programs, including Energy Control, Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and Crane/Forklift Operations
- Performs additional responsibilities and projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills partnering with teams and staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Requires a minimum of four years of related experience preferably within a manufacturing or construction environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience; High School diploma or GED required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and able to quickly adapt to new software systems
- Demonstrates a proactive, self‑directed work style while contributing effectively in both independent and team settings, with the flexibility to work off or split shifts as needed
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Salary range for this role is between $98,000 - $132,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
