Our Environment Team provides environmental assessment, permitting, construction monitoring, and other environmental support services for municipal, transportation, structural, and land development projects across Western Canada. About the Role
Based in our Langley office, the Environmental Student will support the Environment Services Team with a wide variety of projects under the guidance of experienced professionals. This role is well suited to someone with a genuine interest in environmental consulting who enjoys hands-on, field-based work and the variety that comes with it. You are highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. You approach challenges with practical problem-solving skills, adaptability, and sound judgment, and you are comfortable working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Above all, you bring a proactive mindset, a willingness to learn, and the initiative to seek clarity, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute meaningfully to project outcomes.
Typical responsibilities may include:
Assisting with environmental field programs including fisheries assessments, construction monitoring, erosion and sediment control inspections, vegetation assessments, and wetland delineations.
Preparing high-quality field documentation and data summaries
Assisting with data analysis and technical report preparation
Supporting environmental assessments, permit applications, and proposals
Travel as required within British Columbia, with occasional travel to Alberta or Saskatchewan
Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

Current enrollment in an environmental diploma, B.Sc., or M.Sc. program in environmental science, biology, or a related field
Relevant coursework and learning experiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A valid driver’s license is required.
Bonus Points For:
Previous environmental or field-based work experience
Familiarity with fisheries, wildlife, and vegetation assessments, or environmental monitoring
Certified in Level 1 First Aid
Completion of an electrofisher certification
Exposure to environmental legislation
