JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Environmental Center Supervisor, the Environmentalist assists in the implementation of County environmental programs, recycling facility operations, and general program administration.
This position may be safety-sensitive, depending on assigned duties and responsibilities.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in implementation and management of County environmental programs related to solid and hazardous waste management.
• Participates in daily operations of the Environmental Center, including assisting residents, collecting fees, identifying and segregating waste, and preparing materials for shipment.
• Schedules and tracks shipments, orders supplies, and communicates with vendors.
• Reviews invoices and inputs data related to solid and hazardous waste material collection.
• Assists in the implementation and management of satellite recycling drop-off sites.
• Represents the department on various committees, task forces, or work groups when assigned.
• Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Associates Degree in Environmental Studies or related field
or
•High School Diploma and four years of related experience
and
• Valid driver's license
SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS

Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, background investigation, and pre-placement physical.
