What You Will Do
- Coordinate with contractors to validate safety permits, required documentation, and compliance prerequisites prior to site entry.
- Track and follow up on ongoing EHS projects, including environmental initiatives, safety improvements, inspection actions, KPIs, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and distribute internal EHS communications such as safety alerts, campaign materials, monthly updates, and announcements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, project trackers, and digital records using Excel, SharePoint, and internal dashboards.
- Support safety initiatives and field activities, including audits, inspections, risk assessments, and improvement projects.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and external partners to gather necessary compliance and reporting information.
How You Will Do It
- Conduct daily coordination with contractors to ensure all documentation is complete and up to date.
- Maintain and update EHS project trackers with clear visibility into status, risks, and next steps.
- Draft and format internal communications that reinforce safety culture and awareness.
- Use Excel, SharePoint, and other platforms to organize compliance documentation and manage digital records.
- Participate in EHS activities such as audits, inspections, and risk assessments to support ongoing safety initiatives.
- Attend meetings with the EHS team and cross-functional partners to support compliance and operational alignment.
What We Look For
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Pursuing an undergraduate in Environmental, Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, and/or related field.
- Strong Excel skills for organizing data, trackers, and dashboards.
- Interest in environmental, health, and safety topics (training will be provided).
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (contractors, operations, maintenance).
- Clear communication and good writing skills for internal communications.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn the operational and regulatory side of EHS.
- Duration: Summer 2026. Up to 40 hours per week. Part-time during the school year may be available.
- Working Arrangements: On-site based at our manufacturing facility in St. Joseph, MO.
