1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 The McCall Farms Environmental Service Supervisor will oversee and facilitate external grounds maintenance, headworks operations and additional activities deemed necessary to ensure facility audit readiness conditions. They will proactively seek out opportunities to address recognized issues that routinely occur in day-to-day activities. They will proactively seek new opportunities that will enhance the beautification and effectively reduce work for their own department as well as others. They supported food safety, quality processes and procedures of the McCall Farms facility.
2.0 ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Develop, administer, and maintain successful environmental services programs. To include, but not limited to
2.1.1 Efficiently ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of the Headworks process.
2.1.1.1 Grinder is working efficiently. Throughput thresholds are met.
2.1.1.2 Pits are maintained, drained and cleaned out as needed.
2.1.1.3 Grit King works efficiently.
2.1.1.4 Slop trucks are loaded for optimized space and weight.
2.1.1.5 Equipment is maintained in better than good working conditions. Hoses are intact, motors and gears are serviced etc.
2.1.2 Ensure all ground areas are properly manicured, parking lots and external food processing areas are maintained.
2.1.2.1 Weeds are pulled, not just killed.
2.1.2.2 Trash removed along wood lines, gutters, grates, drains, docks etc.
2.1.2.3 Grass is trimmed and cut.
2.1.2.4 Slides and erosion are filled, packed to prevent repeat issues.
2.1.2.5 Gravel drives are dragged, potholes filled etc.
2.1.3 Ensure direct reports are effectively busy with McCall Farms initiatives.
2.1.4 Contrastively and professionally correcting and educating direct reports. Dolling out and enforcing disciplinary activities
2.1.5 May be called upon to assist in new hire interview and consideration process.
2.2 Must be able to manage multiple site areas while also working independently as required.
2.3 Responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental services focused programs associated with or included in, but not limited to:
2.3.1 Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
2.3.2 All GFSI related systems (SQF/BRC/NSF etc)
2.3.3 Government requirements
2.4 Responsible for weekly reporting, and monthly internal safety and food safety audit submittal.
2.5 Able to drive and skillfully maneuver all equipment utilized by the Environment Service department. To include but not limited to:
2.5.1 Bobcats/Skid-Steers2.5.2 Frontend Loaders
2.5.3 Lulls
2.5.4 Forklifts
2.5.5 Company trucks
2.5.6 Dump trucks
2.5.7 Zero turn lawnmowers
2.5.8 Excavators
2.5.9 Bushhog
3.0 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Proactively manage direct reports as well as their own schedule to ensure the department conforms to budgetary constraints and limits overtime needs.
3.2 Develop direct reports to take on more responsibility and roles.
3.3 Use forward thinking methodologies to recognize and report issues which have potential to impact Environmental Services before they become issues.
4.0 QUALIFICATIONS

5.0 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
5.1 Minimum of 3+ years’ industry experience required, preferably in the food sector category.
5.2 Knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies, or other relevant areas of responsibility.
5.3 Must be able to be insured through company insurance agency.
5.4 High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, timely follow up, and results oriented.
5.5 Independent self-starter with proven organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work with little supervision.
5.6 Sound report writing, with good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
5.7 Knowledge of government regulatory requirements in food sector category (FSMA, FDA, USDA)
5.8 Demonstrated strength in setting a good example for others.
5.9 Troubleshooting, data analysis, and investigative skills required. Demonstrate ability to understand concepts, practices, and procedures with ability to use in varied situations.
5.10 Demonstrated ability to set direction and vision for department, establishing priorities, developing policies and effectively allocating resources.
5.11 Flexible ability to change directions as events or situations dictate.
