CFC Recycling Inc. is a growing recycling and scrap operation committed to safety, reliability, and keeping our fleet and equipment running at peak performance. We are looking for an experienced Diesel & Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our team and help support our daily operations.
Position Summary
The Diesel & Mobile Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on our diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy mobile equipment. This role is hands-on and requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment
- Service and repair heavy equipment such as:
- Wheel loaders
- Excavators/material handlers
- Skid steers
- Forklifts
- Roll-off trucks and trailers
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) to reduce downtime
- Inspect equipment and identify needed repairs before failures occur
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Work safely and follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Keep shop and work areas clean, organized, and compliant
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic (preferred)
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Experience working on mobile equipment and/or scrap yard equipment is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose quickly and accurately
- Must have own basic tools (specialty tools provided by company if applicable)
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be dependable, safety-focused, and ready to work
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces as needed
