Fire Sprinkler Technician
Location: Youngsville, LA (and surrounding areas)
Job Type: Full-time permanent employment
Pay: Up to $40 per hour (DOE)
About us:
Advanced Integrated Services (AIS), a Crete United Company provides Electrical, Controls Automation, Instrumentation, Fire & Safety services and has year-round, steady work throughout Louisiana, Texas and the southeast. AIS is experiencing significant growth, and we are looking for a Fire Services Technician to join our team and provide expert-level installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic calculations, and fire protection drawings
- Pipe fitting, threading, grooving, cutting, and welding (if applicable)
- Hanger installation and seismic bracing
- Conduct inspections per NFPA 13, 25, and local fire codes
- Perform flow tests, alarm tests, trip tests (dry/pre-action systems)
- Identify deficiencies and code violations
- Troubleshoot leaks, pressure issues, faulty valves, and alarm components
- Replace heads, valves, gauges, and system components
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of:
- NFPA 13 (Installation of Sprinkler Systems)
- NFPA 25 (Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance)
- Local fire codes and AHJ requirements
- Consistent use of PPE
- Lockout/Tagout knowledge
- Fall protection compliance
Professional Attributes:
- Ability to prepare documentation for inspections and compliance reporting
- Understanding of safety standards and job site regulations
- 3–5 years hands-on sprinkler installation/inspection experience
- Proven ability to work independently
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Comfortable working at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolding)
- Capable of working in confined spaces
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Availability for emergency or after-hours service calls
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset
- Clear communication skills (with clients, inspectors, team members)
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Professional customer service demeanor
