About the Role
Anthro Energy is developing advanced electrolytes to enable safer, higher-performance lithium-ion batteries. We are seeking a collaborative experimental scientist to execute and design hands-on experiments in electrolyte formulation and characterization.
In this role, you will contribute to innovation on new electrolyte concepts by working closely with research partners in materials and cell development teams to translate ideas into proof of concept. Your work will play a critical role in pushing the boundaries of electrolyte and battery performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrolyte formulation experiments in glove box and dry room environments, with careful attention to detail and safety.
- Measure electrolyte and battery performance by constructing cells in different form factors.
- Measure properties of cells and electrolytes using new characterization methods, and contribute to method development.
- Formulate and characterize polymer materials.
- Follow and develop SOPs to ensure experimental quality, reproducibility, and consistency across teams.
- Take direction and feedback from internal customers and research partners to drive stakeholder alignment.
- Generate high-quality, reproducible experimental data with clear documentation to support data-driven decision-making on research hypotheses and product development.
- Analyze data and clearly document and communicate results to the team.
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields with 1-2 years of experience in industry (or an industrial internship in the battery field)
- Hands-on experimental experience in wet organic chemical formulation, preferably with experience in glovebox chemistry, electrolyte development, polymer science, and/or battery or coin cell construction.
- Familiarity with several of the following chemical and materials characterization tools: TGA, rheology, viscometry, compositional analysis, GPC, NMR, and mechanical testing.
- Familiarity with experimental techniques relevant to battery development such as EIS, ACR, thermal testing, and battery cycling is preferred but not required.
- 15 Vacation Days, 10+ Holidays, Sick time off
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage for team members, 60% coverage for dependents
- Paid parental leave with flexible return-to-work policy
- Diverse and inclusive work environment
- Competitive salary and equity compensation commensurate with experience. Expected salary range is $88,000 to $110,000
