WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Engineer for our Minneapolis, MN office. Selected applicant will take part in providing local technical assistance for investigations of soil, air, and groundwater and protection and mitigation efforts relating to water supply, property transfers, hazardous or solid waste disposal, air emission sources, and pollution control. Generates accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
Your Impact
- Under general supervision, provide field support on a wide variety of environmental projects including site assessment, remediation, compliance programs, Phase I environmental site assessments, and sampling/monitoring.
- Conduct subsurface investigations which including drilling, geologic/geotechnical logging and environmental media sampling.
- Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
- Perform engineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and report preparation.
- Prepare reports, including documentation field investigative procedures, data management and interpretation, development of graphical and tabular presentation of data, and Phase 1 environmental site assessments.
- Utilize GIS to support data evaluation, presentation and mapping, as applicable.
- Assist with verifying the characteristics of a site, providing entry-level technical assistance on various environmental issues.
- Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook.
- Work closely with WSP project managers to meet client expectations with regards to defined project objectives, schedule, budget, change management, problem solving, and project deliverables.
- Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office products and strong technical writing and data analysis skills.
- Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, location data, statistical documentation, and logbooks.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate, select, and design site remedies involving contaminated soil, groundwater, and vapor leading to regulatory closure.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer in Training Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Certifications: OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
- Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $63,000 - $90,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
