The Genesis team in France consists of approximately 30 professionals, bringing together a diverse mix of profiles ranging from specialized engineering experts to versatile energy consultants. Our team is dedicated to delivering impactful projects not only within France but also worldwide, supporting clients across both traditional energy sectors and rapidly evolving energy transition initiatives. This breadth of experience enables us to provide tailored solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities in the global energy landscape.
About the role:
During your assignment you will be working in a team of multicultural, motivated, outwardly looking engineers. You will bring the experience from your engineering school and knowledge of latest digital technology to support that team. You will spend your first weeks understanding our consulting business and the international energy industry and have direct access to a number of industry experts that will support your work.
As part of the internship, you will be asked to support the following:
- Support to Project safety various risk assessments including HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, Option ID, etc.
- Support preparation of safety deliverables such as safety philosophies, fire and gas detection analysis, consequence modelling QRA and hazardous area classifications.
- Support preparation of environmental engineering documents including Carbon Footprint Assessment / Life Cycle Analysis, environmental philosophies, Best Available Technique studies and regulatory compliance assessments.
- Other studies may include Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management Plans, Waste Management Plans and Stakeholder Engagement Plans.
- Support will also be required to proposal and marketing material preparation and business development.
- There is also scope for ingenuity and the optimisation of internal systems and databases.
- Energy industries may include oil and gas, renewable energies, hydrogen production, ammonia production, direct air capture, carbon capture and others.
The following skillsets are also desirable:
- Familiarity with ArcPro, PHA Pro, Phast or Safeti would be plus
Details:
- 6 months, starting 1st semester 2026
- Internship based in Paris/La Défense (France)
- 90% French base salary + company restaurant access + transportation allowance
If successful, the internship can lead to a permanent job.

About you:

- Student in 3rd year of School of Engineering or Master of Science.
- Fluency in English is required as you will have to communicate daily with colleagues in other international offices.
- Autonomous, good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural team.
- Strong interest in technical safety & environmental engineering consulting.
- Good understanding of the energy industry and associated international best practice and EU regulatory regime
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail
- Familiarity with MS Office
Languages: Fluent in French & English
