Summary
Summary: Under direct supervision of the Sustainability Manager, or designee, the Sustainability Assistant assists with the research, planning, development, and implementation of programs, outreach opportunities, marketing & communications in support of the Sustainability Division.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbent(s) in this position. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties in this description and incumbent(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.
Essential Job Functions & Other Important Duties
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists with program planning, development, implementation and evaluation.
- Conducts market research studies and/or surveys with emphasis on Sustainability.
- Researches and assists with preparation of grant applications.
- Assists with creating educational materials, papers, case studies and presentations.
- Generates marketing and educational content for presentations, collateral materials, newsletters, website, social media, etc.
- Assists with organization, set up and breakdown of promotional materials during outreach events and workshops; communicates with public during events and tracks attendees.
- Schedules activities and maintains calendar of programs and events.
Other Important Duties:- Attends training and meetings as required.
- May be required to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays for special events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential.

Education, Experience, and Certifications/Licenses:- Associates Degree with major coursework in environmental science, sustainability education, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience that support the ability to perform the essential functions and/or skills of the job.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check, if applicable.
- Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.
