Summary Description
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all field operations for soil remediation and reclamation projects. This role ensures that crews, equipment, materials, and daily readiness standards are consistently met. The Operations Supervisor supervises Field Supervisors and Sampling Technicians while maintaining efficient workflows, accurate documentation, and safe, compliant field execution. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple operational components simultaneously are essential.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and support Field Supervisors and Sampling Technicians
- Oversee daily dispatch, crew readiness, and end of day reviews
- Conduct site assessments to determine equipment needs, dig depth, access, and safety
- Ensure equipment, tools, and materials are staged and maintained
- Manage equipment check in/check out and coordinate maintenance
- Review daily tickets and verify GPS accuracy
- Assign and prioritize sampling and white lining tasks
- Maintain inventory of supplies and consumables
- Oversee yard organization, cleanliness, and safety
- Coordinate procurement and vendor communication
- Develop efficient workflows for equipment, materials, and personnel movement
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and conduct field audits
- Maintain compliance documentation and inspection records
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Provide accurate field data to Project Supervisor for estimating and planning
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management or environmental operations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and inventory management tools.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Pre-Employment drug screening required per state regulations.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience in environmental remediation or industrial logistics.
- Knowledge of fleet management, equipment handling, and procurement processes.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on tasks.
