This hybrid role is preferably located in Washington DC, New York City, or Chicago. The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly organized self-starter with strong project management and communication skills, proven experience delivering sustainability reporting programs to global portfolios, and ability to collaborate across internal functions, cultures, and geographies.
Role accountabilities:
As a Senior Consultant in our Sustainability Advisory team, you will lead the delivery of sustainability reporting projects with investors and financial institutions but additionally across multiple other sectors such as real estate, retail, manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, and transportation. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that all deliverables are accurate, timely, and client-ready. Your role will include developing and implementing reporting strategies, managing project teams, and providing quality assurance for technical analyses. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff, identifying opportunities to expand client relationships, leading workstreams within larger programs and supporting the development of Arcadis’s broader sustainability offering. This position requires strong consulting experience, the ability to communicate complex topics clearly, and a thorough understanding of the latest sustainability frameworks and standards, including GRESB, CDP, DJSI, Ecovadis, and ISSB S2.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead complex reporting portfolios and projects. Lead projects from concept to delivery.
- Deliver projects or workstreams on broader sustainability topics. Topics may include GHG accounting, ESG strategy, climate risk, decarbonization, biodiversity, and others to meet diverse client needs.
- Owning client relationships. Act as a trusted advisor, anticipate needs, and consistently deliver high-quality, client-ready work directly and through others.
- Driving results independently. Take a challenge, brainstorm solutions, and deliver proposals, analyses, client communications, and deliverables with minimal supervision. Track schedules, deliverables, budgets, and staffing on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Coaching and elevating junior team members. Guide project teams, give actionable feedback, and help colleagues grow.
- Ensuring quality and accountability. Review analyses, ensure deliverables meet the highest standards, and keep projects on time and on budget.
- Developing and upholding technical standards. Establish, document, and enforce rigorous technical standards and best practices to ensure consistency, reliability, and excellence in all deliverables.
- Championing innovation. Identify new ways to create value for clients and help improve reporting processes.
- Communicating with clarity. Present complex topics in simple, compelling terms to executives and stakeholders, including developing executive-level presentations for c-suite level audiences.
- Demonstrating responsiveness in high-pressure situations. Proactively manage demanding client requests and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
- Staying current with the latest frameworks and standards. Maintain deep expertise in relevant guidelines such as GRESB, CDP, Ecovadis, DJSI and the GHG Protocol.
- Collaborating across teams and geographies. Navigate a matrix organization and work with colleagues worldwide
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sustainability consulting or closely related fields with a focus in voluntary sustainability reporting.
- Proven experience leading reporting projects and teams.
- Extensive experience preparing GRESB Infrastructure responses in-house or as a consultant.
- Track record of reliable, on-time delivery and transparent communication.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including senior-level presentations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and juggle multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in relevant sustainability disciplines.
- Experience across multiple sectors.
- Extensive experience leading GRESB Real Estate responses in-house or as a consultant. Experience in other relevant protocols (CDP, Ecovadis, DJSI, GHG Protocol).

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $89,496 - $165,951. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
