Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support critical documentation, compliance, and program activities at our Michigan City B1 facility. This intern will assist with medical records organization, document control, and OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) audit preparation. The role offers hands-on experience in EHS and a unique opportunity to support preparations for an official OSHA VPP audit in August.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Records Project
- Combine medical records including injuries, medical clearances, and hearing tests into one consolidated file for each employee
- Remove and organize files for employees no longer with HGAP
- Prepare and send appropriate records to Iron Mountain for long-term storage
OSHA VPP Audit Preparation
- Assist in organizing program documents and records such as training logs, injury reports, inspection documentation, and program files
- Move and centralize documents into a secure and accessible location for OSHA auditors
- Support general audit readiness tasks leading up to the August VPP audit
General EHS Exposure
- Gain exposure to Chemical Safety, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Medical Records processes
- Support broader EHS initiatives as assigned

Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Progress -Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline
Preferred standing: Undergraduate students may be considered.
Internship Program Criteria
- Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college/university
- Minimum 2.5 or above GPA preferred
- Must be able to complete internship from May–August 2026.
- Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $20–$25, depending on education level and skill set
