VAROPreem
VAROPreem is a leading energy company created through the combination of VARO and Preem, built on scale, capability, and a proven track record.
VAROPreem operates an integrated value chain — from sourcing and manufacturing to storage, distribution, marketing, and trading — combining conventional and sustainable energies.
As Europe’s third-largest independent refiner, we own and operate critical infrastructure, playing a key role in strengthening energy security and enabling the energy transition. Our integrated supply network is among the largest in Europe, meeting nearly 10% of road and marine fuel demand and supporting mobility, trade, and industrial activity every day.
At the same time, we are enabling our customers the shift to lower-carbon energy. VAROPreem is Europe’s second-largest producer of renewable fuels and the 6th largest in the world, with 1.3 million tonnes per year of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) capacity, scaling solutions that deliver real emissions reductions today.
Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, with a strong presence across Europe, VAROPreem combines global energy markets expertise with deep customer relationships, operating as a new leading force in energy.

THE POSITION
As Senior Sustainability Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring regulatory assurance, audit readiness, and bio-traceability across VARO’s renewable fuels supply chain. You will help manage mass balances, validate sustainability documentation, and contribute to regulatory reporting obligations across core European markets such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Germany and Austria. You will also support the implementation of our new Sustainability Operations System and be instrumental in shaping a future-proof sustainability assurance function across VARO – at an exciting time, with RED III, and ETS2 being implemented across these member states and VARO growing to an integrated player in the biofuels value chain.
This is a mid-career position, ideally suited for candidates who have worked in biofuels trading, operations, or bio-compliance and who are ready to step into a cross-country role that supports both Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and Hamburg (Germany) sustainability operations.
