DescriptionWe are currently seeking an Environmental Intern in our Due Diligence, Investigation, and Remediation (DDI&R) Group within the Environmental Division of our Rochester, NY office.
The DDI&R team covers everything from Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to Brownfield Remediation projects. Responsibilities may include data management, assisting with technical reporting, drafting figures, shadowing field work, and work directly with a mentor. LaBella’s internship program is designed for your personal growth and experienced staff guiding and coaching you just as they would if you joined us on a permanent basis.
Duties:
• Assist our team of scientists, engineers, and geologists in the field with environmental sample collection and monitoring (soil, water, and air)
• Some travel to job sites required (typically within 1-hour of Rochester)
• Assist with the preparation of environmental reports, including Phase I & II ESAs
• Assist with data management and processing using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Various office tasks to support management with preparing deliverables to clients
• Adhere to Health and Safety program
• Other duties as required
Requirements• Enrolled in (or recently completed) a Bachelor’s degree program in environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, or closely related field
• Driver’s License and reliable vehicle to be able to travel to local job sites (typically within 1 hour of Rochester, NY) – Mileage is reimbursed at the standard IRS rate
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Experience with GIS and/or CAD is a plus
• Internship experience is a plus
• 40-hour HAZWOPER/OSHA is a plus
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over short distances
• Ability to work well with a team and good analytical skills
Salary Range: $18 - $20/per hour
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
