Job Description Summary
In a dynamic team environment, the Auxiliary Fluids Systems Engineer’s responsibilities include the role in concept development, detailed design engineering and customer support predominantly for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Generator scope of systems and applications. The person will be responsible to take lead and drive responsibilities towards SQDC priorities of assigned new unit projects for GT & Gen Oil systems scope. Also, NPI Programs and any Business-driven initiatives. The person will need to interact with multiple disciplinary functions and prepare designs that are consistent in quality.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- To demonstrate strong technical and leadership skills with problem solving mindset to deliver commitments to projects and customer.
- To develop system level architecture for Gas Turbine Liquid Fuel systems for new unit requisition projects. Development of detailed system, component specifications, outline drawings, build to print drawings and system schematics.
- Develop innovative engineering designs for Liquid Fuel oil systems
- Working with TL/CTH to develop new technologies, documenting lessons learnt and best practices in Design practices
- Collaborating with team to deliver quality products, meeting schedules and cost
- New Unit / NPI Program execution with end-to-end ownership including operational requirements, design development, vendor equipment evaluations, commissioning support, field issue resolution.
- Perform engineering calculations & analyses (sizing and selection of system components) as needed while executing the project to validate integrity of hardware and software designs.
- Review, evaluate, approve Supplier designs and calculations by working with Sourcing to ensure cost effective solutions as well as quality of products.
- Inspect equipment and perform design reviews at supplier shop floor or at customer sites during installation & commissioning phase.
- Provide field issue support for responsible systems, hardware and provide the resolution with sense of urgency.
- Take active role in Continuous Improvement / Quality engagement initiatives. Updating design practices to include best practices by collaborating with team.
- Collaboration with other GE engineering design teams, customers, and suppliers as well as with internal GE functions like Controls, Electrical, Sourcing, Drafting, Systems Engineering, Project engineering and Fulfillment teams.
Qualifications/Requirements
- B. Tech/B. E/M.tech in Mechanical with excellent academic record.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine related engineering discipline
- Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to work in teams and achieve targets

- PLM exposure and experience.
- Power plant and Gas turbine accessory equipment design experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage & lead multiple projects with minimal direction.
