Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols to prevent unauthorized access and detect potential security threats.
- Monitor and enforce access control measures and guidelines within conservation areas.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and community stakeholders to support conservation efforts and emergency services.
- Implement and enforce environmental and land conservation bylaws and legislation.
- Support conservation management activities by gathering information and maintaining ecological data.
- Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) standards for a safe and healthy work environment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of wildlife surveys, erosion monitoring, and visitor activities for management analysis.
- Foster an understanding of the natural environment by interacting with visitors and promoting conservation awareness.
- Respond promptly to safety incidents and operational needs with agility and efficiency.
- Stay informed about innovative conservation practices and contribute to developing strategic solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10/Standard 8 or AET Level 4 (Essential/Minimum)
- Skills Programme in Field Ranger Law Enforcement (Essential/Minimum)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant job-specific Ranger experience (Essential)
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
- Valid Public Driver's License, Code EB (Essential/Minimum)
- Strong understanding of conservation practices and environmental legislation enforcement
- Ability to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services
- Proficient in monitoring and access control to conservation areas
- Effective communication skills for interaction with visitors and stakeholders
