Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a Corporate Receptionist and Collection Specialist, reporting to Senior Director of Finance, Canada, is responsible for a variety of administrative and accounting-related duties. This includes answering calls, directing calls and other communications and assisting with general clerical duties along with managing a portfolio for daily collection activities. The Corporate Receptionist possesses a strong attention to detail, communication skills, and knowledge of Microsoft applications. This includes daily communication with 3rd parties through phone and/or e-mail, working with internal and external customers and business partners to proactively identify and resolve problems that might arise.
What will you do you as the Corporate Receptionist and Collection Specialist?
- Daily answer, screen and transfer the phone calls to the applicable person/department, taking care of the emergency service calls
- Accounting responsibilities such as mailing cheques for AP, arrange pick up for AR cheques via Purolator / Fedex. and/or deposit cheques
- Screen the mail and send them to the applicable person. Dropping the mail to the mailbox/post office
- Review contracts, orders, and invoices to reconcile and resolve customer disputes that delay payment of accounts to expediate cash collections and/or affect customer satisfaction
- Research, identify and resolve unapplied payments
- Responsible for timely follow-up and regular updates to accounts receivable collection notes
- Tasked with meeting and/or exceeding assigned collection targets and weekly timely reporting to management
- Additional tasks as assigned

Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, NetSuite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills required, including the ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively assist with adherence to deadlines, attention to detail and strong problem solving and decision-making with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Previous relevant experience, in a similar role
- High school diploma, degree in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent work experience an asset
- Flexibility in work schedule when required
- Must be able to work as part of a team with peers and leadership within organization
