The Yap Conservation Coordinator supports conservation activities in Yap State, Federated States of Micronesia, which falls within the geographic area of the Micronesia & Polynesia Chapter. The Conservation Coordinator provides administrative support, project management, coordination among partners, reporting and other duties to support the Yap Hub and conservation and stewardship goals within Yap State. The Conservation Coordinator is based in Yap State (working from a home office and in the field), and the role is a fixed term 3-year position. This term may be extended subject to funding and need.
The Conservation Coordinator manages conservation data, participates in conservation planning, develops project packages, and maintains project records. This includes collecting, assembling and analyzing various types of data, in the field or through document surveys, and assisting in the production of reports. Working closely with communities and other partners, the Conservation Coordinator will plan and conduct meetings, activities and events, and will create outreach and training materials. They will coordinate between local NGOs, delivery partners, and TNC colleagues, ensuring implementation of project activities and alignment with workplans. They will facilitate or provide technical assistance and support equitable participation of community members. This position may work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.

What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management or related field and 2 years of related work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Experience coordinating multiple projects.
Experience handling standard business communications.
Fluent in English and Yapese
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in Yap and/or other Pacific Islands
Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated
2-4 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to complete tasks independently within assigned time frames.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments sometimes coming from a number of sources and work independently.
Ability to coordinate project information from a number of sources to populate databases, create reports and produce manual files.
Experience utilizing databases for data entry and report production preferred.
Strong administrative skills including attention to detail and numerical ability.
Ability to plan, administer and record results of work-team meetings and activities
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $30,600-$36,000. This range only applies to new hires based in the state of Yap within the Federated States of Micronesia. Where a successful candidate’s pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors including the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
