Position Objective: To maintain WCS equipment, facilities, and grounds.
Principal Responsibilities:- Clean, patrol grounds, buildings, property, and structures of assigned areas.
- Assist in the movement of WCS equipment and supplies to all areas of the park as required.
- Provide room/event setup and takedown as assigned (chairs, tables, podiums, etc).
- Operate equipment such as snow throwers, leaf blowers, carpet extractors, vacuums, buffing machines, Kaivac cleaning machines, etc.
- Display proficiency and skill in the use of tools and cleaning materials associated with applicable tasks.
- Offer assistance to aquarium guests with wayfinding, daily schedules, operating hours, etc.
- Perform mail/supply run to the Bronx Zoo as requested and scheduled (with valid driver’s license and training).
Internal Qualification RequirementsExperience in the use of cleaning and snow removal equipment.
Ability to represent WCS in a professional manner and to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with employees, colleagues, and the general public.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license (preferred).
Physical Requirements: The position requires work outdoors in all weather conditions and in office environments. Tasks require manual dexterity and ability to safely use hand tools and operate cleaning equipment. Some tasks require kneeling, bending, navigating uneven terrain, and moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, evenings, special events, and overtime as the schedule demands.

Hiring rate: $39,816
2-Year Incumbent Rate: $42,071
