A growing family office based in downtown Chicago is seeking a resourceful and versatile individual to join their investment arm, Skydeck Capital. The Financial Analyst will be exposed to both public and private market initiatives. This is a role that provides the opportunity to work with small group of investment professionals where the Financial Analyst will be integral to supporting the team across various asset classes including public securities, private equity, venture capital and private credit.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive monthly analysis of the firm’s public portfolio, including fund manager performance and performance of positions held directly.
Own private equity fund manager reporting and write quarterly recaps for each.
For the direct investment portfolio, maintain accurate and complete investment files, which includes logging new investments, divestments, and valuations. Analyze individual IRRs as well as portfolio IRRs.
Assist investment professionals in researching new investment opportunities which includes market studies, modeling return expectations, and performing due diligence on model inputs.
For existing direct portfolio companies, help investment professionals drive value-add initiative for companies while also holding companies accountable to expectations.
Manage the team’s DealCloud CRM database which tracks activity and communication for each direct investment and business development efforts conducted by Skydeck investment professionals.
Support investment professionals with quarterly valuation process, monitoring individual investment performance, and broad market data/trends.
Work collaboratively with the accounting team by communicating activity within the portfolio and assisting in reconciling investment activity.
Manage multiple requests simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met, and perform various ad-hoc and long-term projects as assigned.
Routinely handle confidential information and apply strict confidentiality and sensitivity in the dissemination of this information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business-related field with two or more years of relevant experience.
1-2 years in investment industry experience and knowledge of asset management business, including fixed income, equity, alternative assets, risk, and performance measures highly preferred.
Ability to work onsite FT in Chicago.
Must be highly detail oriented, concern for the quality and accuracy of final work products is critical.
Ability to maintain data integrity within established financial models in Excel with a demonstrated understanding of complex formulas/models.
$90,000 - $115,000
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
