Job Purpose: The Central / Site Environment Executive is responsible for supporting the Environment Lead in ensuring environmental compliance and stewardship across mining operations. This role involves assisting with the implementation of environmental management systems, coordinating with regulatory bodies, conducting monitoring activities, and preparing reports to maintain adherence to environmental standards and regulations.
Responsibilities1. Cluster-Level Leadership & Coordination
- Implement corporate environmental policies and objectives across all sites within the cluster.
- Provide guidance and support to site-level environment teams for effective execution of Environment Management Plans.
- Conduct regular cluster reviews and ensure alignment with organizational compliance standards.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Clearances
- Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, and permits within the cluster.
- Manage processes for statutory clearances including EC, FC, CTO, WLMP, CGWA, and hazardous waste authorizations.
- Monitor adherence to public hearing processes and maintain accurate documentation for all approvals.
3. Monitoring & Reporting
- Supervise air, water, and soil quality monitoring programs across cluster sites.
- Review MIS reports and compliance documentation for accuracy and timely submission to corporate office.
- Ensure compliance data is updated in digital platforms such as Legatrix for tracking and reporting.
4. Audits & Risk Management
- Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits at cluster sites; ensure timely closure of observations.
- Identify environmental risks and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of monitoring equipment across cluster sites.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Liasion with regional regulatory authorities and Pollution Control Boards for timely approvals and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and operations.
- Represent the cluster in regulatory consultations and sustainability forums.
6. Budget & Resource Management
- Monitor environmental expenditure within the cluster against approved budgets.
- Optimize resource allocation for compliance activities and environmental projects.
7. Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Drive adoption of digital platforms for compliance tracking and reporting at cluster level.
- Explore innovative technologies for environmental monitoring and performance improvement.
