About The Job
The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that ink, coating, and related chemical products and operations comply with applicable safety, environmental, and transportation regulations. The role supports manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and logistics activities while ensuring regulatory adherence throughout the product lifecycle—from raw material receipt through finished goods shipment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Support compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, participate in hazard assessments and incident investigations, support chemical handling programs, and assist with employee training related to hazardous materials.
- Support air emissions and VOC management, waste and hazardous waste compliance, spill prevention programs, environmental permitting, audits, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, IMDG, IATA, and related dangerous goods regulations.
- Support classification, packaging, marking, labeling, documentation, and training for compliant shipment of raw materials and finished inks.
- Evaluate regulatory impacts of new products and process changes, monitor regulatory developments, communicate risks, and support internal compliance assessments.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to integrate compliance into daily operations and serve as a technical compliance resource.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in EHS, regulatory, or transportation compliance within the chemical, ink, coatings, or related manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, and hazardous materials transportation requirements.
- Experience in printing inks or specialty chemicals, DOT or Dangerous Goods certification, environmental permitting experience, familiarity with global transport regulations, and audit participation.
- This role operates in manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments with periodic travel.
