We are seeking an enthusiastic summer intern to support our reclamation programs across northern Alberta. To thrive in this role, you should be a curious learner with strong communication skills, enjoy teamwork, and bring creativity and adaptability to problem-solving.

Responsibilities
Assist with vegetation management and participate in Detailed Site Assessments, including the evaluation of landscapes, soils, and vegetation.
Collect soil and water samples and survey reclamation areas.
Assist Reclamation Specialist in the preparation and organizing of soils and vegetation data.
Support the completion of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) under the guidance of senior team members.
Conduct surface water and ground water monitoring activities
Participate in reclamation programs by providing field support and assisting with technical documentation.
Collaborate with the team on remediation and reclamation projects in Northern AB, including field data collection and reporting.
Assist in developing reclamation work plans and preparing drafts for reclamation reporting.
Assist in interpreting analytical results by organizing data and preparing summaries for review by senior scientists.
Commit to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established health, safety, and quality standards.
Actively participate in safety initiatives, report potential hazards, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a program of Land Reclamation, Forestry, Environmental, Biology, or Natural Science Program
Relevant coursework in soil and plant identification with knowledge of reclamation and contamination/remediation is an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
A good sense of humour and a strong admiration of all things Swayze (Patrick) is an asset.
