WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Environmental Planner for our Atlanta, GA office. Join our Advisory Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Contribute to high-quality technical deliverables on projects.
- Attend and participate in project and client meetings.
- Assist with proposal preparation and other business development activities.
- Develop an understanding of project finances.
- Help build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and partners.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, transportation planning, environmental science, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in NEPA process coordination and documentation for transportation and other infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of FHWA NEPA policies and procedures and Georgia DOT environmental procedures and guidebooks, Plan Development Process (PDP), and TPro/P6.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating environmental planning tasks, schedules, and deliverables, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and technical subject matter experts.
- Familiarity with agency consultation and other regulatory processes (e.g., Section 106, Section 4(f), Section 7).
- Experience conducting public and stakeholder outreach activities.
- Strong self‑management skills with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt within a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas orally and in writing.
- Proficiency with standard office productivity and collaboration software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, virtual meeting, and communication tools).
- Ability to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Ability to meet project-specific schedules that may occasionally extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Ability to occasionally travel to projects sites and navigate uneven or rough terrain on foot.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GIS proficiency.
- Master’s Degree in relevant field of study.
- Active involvement in local professional organization.
- Progress toward or interest in pursuing professional certification (e.g., AICP, CEP).
